Alkaline Main Dishes: Veggie Stir-Fry with Leeks and Kohlrabi
This wonderful veggie based stir-fry comes from a friend‘s family in Switzerland who sent it to us. It contains many interesting herbs, such as buckhorn plantain (also called English plantain), thyme, or dandelion, and is full of richly alkaline green veggies, such as savoy cabbage (contains many vitamins, foliate, magnesium and calcium, and potassium), leeks (high in Vitamin K and B6 as well as iron and phosphorus), and Kohlrabi – also called German turnip which is a rich source of Vitamin C.
A real Alkaline Powerhouse!
Glaze onion in a pan with butter until golden.
Add all the other vegetables, and stir in the broth.
Cover and simmer 15 minutes on medium heat, stirring occasionally.
Season to your taste with thyme, salt and pepper, as well as buckhorn plantain and dandelion at the end.
Serve hot
Tip: You can leave out English plantain and dandelion if not at hand. Instead try other herbs or spices, such as a pinch cayenne pepper, or garlic powder. Or what about a splash Tabasco? Enjoy your Alkaline Stir Fry!
