Alkaline Side Dishes/Snacks: Mediterranean Bell Peppers
Besides being an alkaline food and very low in calories (1 medium-sized bell papper has only 40 calories), bell peppers are packed with Vitamin C and lots of other healthy nutrients, such as thiamine, vitamin B6, beta carotene, and folic acid.
Bell peppers are therefore not only able to protect the cells, strenghten the immune system and prevent blood clot formation and reduce the risk of heart attacks and strokes, but are also said to prevent cancer.
So enjoy this healhty alkalizing side dish!
Heat up olive oil in a pan (medium heat) and add onions and bell pepper, stir.
Use a garlic crusher for the garlic, add and stir.
Add vegetable stock and season with herbs and parsley as well as salt and pepper to taste.
Cover the pan and cook for about 15 minutes.
